Integrate Google Analytics with your Status Page
Google Analytics (GA) lets you track how visitors use your Sorry™ Status Page. Monitor page views, user locations, or actions like subscription clicks to optimize your status page’s impact. This guide shows you how to add GA directly in a few clicks or use Google Tag Manager for advanced tracking.
Why Use Google Analytics?
GA helps you understand your status page’s performance with:
- Visitor Insights: See how many users visit and where they’re from.
- Engagement Tracking: Measure clicks on incident updates or subscriptions.
- Performance Data: Identify popular pages or high-traffic times.
- Free and Flexible: Works for both Universal Analytics and GA4.
Set Up Google Analytics

Create a new property:- For Universal Analytics, get a Tracking ID (UA-XXXXX-Y).
- For Google Analytics 4, get a Measurement ID (G-XXXXXXX).
- Copy the ID.
Step 2: Add GA to Your Status Page:

- Click the cog icon (Status Page Settings) in the left sidebar.
- Select the Search & Analytics tab.
- In the Google Analytics field, paste your Tracking ID or Measurement ID.

Step 3: Verify Tracking:
- Visit your status page in a browser.
- Open GA’s Real-Time report to confirm visitor data appears.
