October Security & Performance Updates

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving the reliability and stability of our service, we have been focusing on security.

October 21st 2022

• We are introducing reCAPTCHA on the subscription flow to provide additional security when subscribing with an email address. Over time, it will learn the traffic patterns and provide enhanced security to requests deemed as potential bots or large requests.
• The subscribe form previously bypassed our edge and was sent straight to the application nodes. We have now made a change so that it is cached at our edge layer. These changes will provide not only speed improvements but also more security.
• Improved handling of welcome notifications through split workers making database calls less whilst there is an increase in traffic.
• Autoscaling modifications so that nodes will scale at a sufficient rate without causing database lockouts.
