One-click unsubscribe in emails
From June 1st, 2024, Google and Yahoo will enforce new sender requirements, including a valid URL-based list-unsubscribe header that supports one-click unsubscribe. At Sorry™, we have implemented this requirement for all email notifications distributed through status pages.
What is a list-unsubscribe header?
The list-unsubscribe header is a new email header containing explicit instructions about unsubscribing from a brand's emails. The functionality is powered by inbox providers like Gmail, Apple Mail, or Yahoo. With this feature, subscribers can unsubscribe easily instead of searching for the unsubscribe link in the body of the email.
In Gmail, for example, it looks like this:
Benefits of using the header
We firmly believe in building trust and making it easier for subscribers to remove themselves from notifications helps establish this.
An easily accessible unsubscribe process helps with excellent sender reputation and deliverability.
Do the status pages require any action?
No, we have enabled this feature by default, where all pages have email notifications enabled as a message distribution option.
